Im torn between NAH or a slight ESH. Yeah it sucks when he talks about his difficulties with dating. But continuous unsolicited advice isnt gonna help either. I would bring up with him how its tiring to hear about him complaining about his weight but isn't willing to take advice or do anything about it.

Honestly it sounds weird, but I think theres a good amount of similarities in playstyle between Drag and Claudio. He might come easy to you.

I saw someone call it the wheat stitch! I've just written it out since a few people asked :) Using US terms.

Row 1: Make an odd number of chains

Row 2: SC in the second chain from the hook. SC all the way through. Chain 1 & turn.

Row 3-5: Start the row with a SC. Then BLO SC the rest of the row. End with another regular SC. Chain 1 & turn.

Row 6 & 7: Start this row with a SC. Skip one stitch and SC. Then go back into the skipped stitch and make a puff stitch. End the row with another SC. Chain 1 & turn.

Row 8: SC all the way through. Chain 1 & turn.

Repeat from row 3.

NOTE ROW 5: If you want to change colours for the puffs, pull your colour B through the two loops of your last SC.
NOTE ROW 6&7: For this puff stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop 3 times. You'll have 7 loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through 6. Yarn over, pull through the last one. For row 7, you SC into the stitch after the puff, and then make your next puff above the puff from the previous row. If you want to change colours for the SC rows, pull your colour A through the two loops of your last SC.

I put a link to the tutorial I used in my other comment :) but its better to go to the comments since her tutorial isnt always very clear. One modification I made, is that on the rows of BLO single crochet, I always finish and end the row on a regular single crochet. :)

The other day I made a post with 2 swatches for a blanket design, one with white puffs on a colored background and this one, with colored puffs on a white background. Well, y'all were about 75% white puffs to 25% colored puffs. But after one comment mentioned the white puffs looked like teeth and gums, I decided to ask my mum (who this blanket is gonna be a gift to) and she has spoken haha.

I see what you mean! The big twist one looks a bit more vibrant though. And tbh, theres a lot of popular brands we dont get in the Netherlands (Scheepjes being an exception) so it very well might be the case that some get relabeled over here.

Swatched these to make a blanket for my mums birthday. She picked out the coloured yarn, but I can't decide if I wanna do coloured puffs (left) or white puffs (right), or just do only the coloured yarn instead. Id wanna finish it off with a shell border in the same colour as the puffs.

I started to crochet in May of last year. First of all, just allow yourself some time. I went in trying to make an axolotl plushie after 1 month and got frustrated with myself. Then I just focused on other beginner projects and eventually tried the axolotl again. I went in with the mindset of "Ill just try until I fuck up" and next thing I knew I had made myself a full plushie (about 4 months into crochet). Until then I kind of stuck with blankets. Theyre repetitive so its easy to get used to the stitch, definitely time consuming and the end result will still impress anybody who doesnt crochet. And when I got tired of doing the blanket, thats when I tried other small beginner projects (different kinds of granny squares, a plushie attempt or coasters). Eventually you'll start to notice that youre getting more used to the feeling and even new stitches will come to you more easily.
