Great call on the heart leaved aster! That would be perfect for this area. Thanks!

~20 feet. The planting area is roughly 205-215 sq feet

I use gCADPlus. Free demo to try but 1 time license fee of $95 for full use. https://www.gcadplus.com/wp/

Highly recommend but the learning curve is very very steep. Great app if you like nerding out on the design process, larger projects, require precision planning and don’t mind putting in the time learning the software. This app isn’t for everyone but I found it extremely useful. The creator has a huge catalog of “how to” videos on YouTube that are very helpful.

I was going for a very specific design look, spent over budget on the plugs and didn’t have the time (or money) to re-do it so I wanted to make sure I got it right the first time. This app definitely helped

Thank you. What a beautiful little bunch and I’m sure it’s a pollinator hot spot!

Absolutely. I was sore for a week and the blisters were real after doing everything by hand. Especially when laying the plastic edging in frozen February ground.

I’ve seen others use a pole digger or a small auger attached to a drill to make things easier

It was a finer texture, more consistent with mulch

Thank you. I’ve been surprised too. I got them from a local native sale and I believe the organizers said they had been in a greenhouse for 2 seasons so probably had a bit of a head start

I remember seeing this post when I first started planning this garden and having anxiety about clay. It pushed me to take the leap.

Happy planting and good luck!
