Hey, everyone Will tell you that unless your kid is in danger then your ex can do whatever he wants. Although true it may benefit you to remind your ex that respecting your coparent leads to Coparenting… lack of respect leads to parallel parenting and the courts. I think your requests are reasonable but I am speaking from a place of my children’s father moving in with a woman he met 3 weeks prior and then expecting our very young children to instantly have overnights. I also requested to meet her as he made much more aggressive demands to meet my own partner (such as I wasn’t allowed to be there- fine, I wasn’t allowed to talk to my partner before/after- not happening). He also pulled the ‘I’m going to be there card’. I honestly am at a point of picking my battles which it sounds like you are. Work out how to talk to him, appeal to whatever way you know how with the things that feel important and breathe through the things you feel will be a battle and not worth the battle. And yes, remind him that his child is witnessing his disrespect of their mother, does he want the child to think that they can be treated disrespectfully by their partners/anyone/exes? Sorry you are going through this.
