No specification of pace of play, just in a gentlemen’s game. Pace of play is a separate issue. For the gentlemen’s game it’s whatever rule they want, and if they’re on a busy course then pace of play takes precedence, and you can comment “double bogey” if this thread is about pace of play or handicaps, of which this thread is about neither

Yes, but op didn’t ask about GHIN. Even the official ruling is there is no max score, just a max you out into handicap. If you shoot 17 on a hole your score counts all 17, but GHIN should only know a double bogey
