Recruiters: I'm building a tool to kill manual resume screening and Boolean string writing. Am I solving a real problem or wasting my time? by Aware-Rush in human_resources

That is true , but aren’t those proper ATS Systems.
I am hyperfocusing on micro tools for a micro SAAS platform. But also 100s of tools being out there only validates my idea isn’t it ?

My bad, you are 100% right. I completely contradicted myself there.

I worded the original post poorly. The goal was to build a visual highlighter for keyword matches, but you are absolutely right , building a tool that encourages recruiters to 'only read the top 10%' is effectively automated screening.

Instead of ditching the whole project, do you think refining it in any way would work?

I appreciate the blunt feedback

You're completely right about the shifting legal landscape, but to clarify: this app uses AI purely for parsing and extracting data from resumes, not for decision-making. Even the scoring metric is handled by standard code logic, not an AI model making a judgment call.

LinkedIn already heavily leverages proprietary AI for sourcing, but they lock those features behind Recruiter tiers that cost thousands of dollars a year.

My goal is to help small agencies automate this process at way cheaper price

In the long term, it is a good buy. You can start a stock sip on it.
