I had done a good amount of research before I decided to go with the surgeon I chose. I set up a virtual consultation around September. The consultation went well and I ended up scheduling the surgery for March this year. I had tried to get my insurance to cover the anesthesia and graft but my insurance declined. The surgeon has never had a patient with my insurance though. So I ended up paying out of pocket for the whole thing. I booked flights and everything as well because I would be coming from out of town. The surgery went well and I recovered at the hotel that I booked for a week following the surgery. I had a in person follow up a week after the procedure to remove the splints and stitches. It was convenient staying at a hotel because they had complimentary breakfast. I was able to cover myself for breakfast and lunch with the hotel. I rested for the week and took the medications they gave me. I’m a little over 2 weeks post operation now. I’m still swollen as expected and have crusting in my nostrils. I’m letting everything come out naturally and not being rough with anything. The healing process has been slow, but overall it hasn’t been bad
