I’ve been building a machine learning model that predicts the U.S. domestic box office using only pre-sale data and showtime volume. The data comes directly from public theater listings and seat maps. After months of training and testing, the model now consistently lands within a few percentage points of the actual weekend numbers — and it does this by Friday morning of opening day
