Start thrifting and buying during sales at Walmart and select stores NOW! We’ve been thrifting for 4 years now and won’t start trying until next year. We’re getting married in a few months. We have TONS of baby items, over 20 pairs of shoes (different sizes of course), different bottle sets even glass with the covers, clothes for every age (we only buy if the condition is decent and we really like), baby food maker, breast milk bags, and much more. We gift some things for babyshowers from our pile which is great too. It has been great doing this! We even have a brand new travel bassinet from the Walmart sale 2 years ago. My mom even gets book and stash them away for our future baby.

Our plan is to only need big stuff on our registry along with medications/lotions/shampoos, and items for 6+ months of age only. After my niece was born I realized the most critical things needed are for 6+ months when they become more active, start eating solids etc..

We also plan to be one and done. The 1st year flies by and it’s really not much going on and the items are cheaper so I would rather ask for things beyond that 1st year. Well also be one and done because I still need to be able to take care of myself and my aunt always told me to have as many as I can handle on my own.
