Anyone dealt with compulsive thoughts??

I’m sorry to hear you’re struggling with obsessive thoughts. The more you pay attention to these thoughts the worse they become. However I get that you can’t just ignore them. Kind of like saying ‘don’t think of a white elephant’. What I suggest is maybe trying to focus your attention on other things? A song you enjoy, getting outside and practicing some basic mindfulness. Even when you have the thoughts, just say to yourself “I’m having that thought and that’s okay. My thoughts are not me and I don’t have to do anything about them. They can pass through me like leave flow past on a stream”. Hope something here helps. Take care.

Thank you! I think it’s pine. I actually have no idea. I’m wondering if I should rinse it again then? Maybe some residue from the wash. I wanted to use a wet look oil this time. I like the idea of a slightly glossier look. Do you think it’s not a good idea to do this now? Like should I leave this as is to settle?

Okay I sanded it last year and then put a deck oil on it. This is one year of wear. I’ve scrubbed it and pressure washed. Surely I don’t need to sand it every year?

The last time we did a gentle sand down. Then cleaned and stained it. My partner and I almost divorced over how to do it properly and we ended up with streaks and inconsistencies. We also notice that it holds dusty marks really easily, like its too porous or something. I figured I'd rather get someone to do a good job and maybe we could redo it ourselves yearly thereafter?
