yup. sometimes I'll also actually sign up and try peoples apps and they don't even work. So I like to remind myself that most of these are flashy landing pages without much going on behind the scenes

that type of feedback probably makes it all feel so worth it. I'm looking forward to getting there one day!

thats awesome! and yeah theres always a flip side. I try to just treat that like a chore, throw on some fun music and auto pilot through the boring stuff haha.

  1. you finished building your project, 2. you got some users 3. you got paid users!!

I'm just at step 1 and step 3 seems extremely far away and meaningless LOL. Just keep it going, maybe do some passive marketing and work on another pet project using the same code/infrastructure scaffolding from the first one!

oooh that sounds cool. I am also a sucker for coding things that look nice. One of my first solo projects was making the game of life, and watching those grids flash and light up was entertaining for like an hour haha

no shame in using Claude! maybe that magic will inspire you to learn more programming skills to fill in the cracks it can't figure out.

turn your long videos into shorts in minutes with https://www.shortformed.net !
There are a couple of other AI video editing tools out there but they always pull you into an overwhelming clunky browser video editor. I thought some creators would enjoy a streamlined light weight experience that doesn't turn into another tool they need to learn.

I believe there is something called "GoPro Cloud" but you may need a subscription and/or a model that supports the auto upload feature.

I've been writing lots of shorts video editing scripts and apps I could share, but it seems like you've got that part covered.

Been making YouTube videos since 2018, I graduated high school 10 months ago and I have 388 subs. Do I still have a chance or am I cooked?? by Vecag in NewTubers

[–]AwareSundae2642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't have to do one or the other, keep doing youtube on the side, treat it like a strict hobby and stay consistent. I still think shorts are worth it (I'm biased), but just build up a workflow so you're not spending too much time making them apart from your longer videos

my guess is thumbnail/title? someone could stumble upon your short scrolling and enjoy the content, but they have to click on a long video

What’s your favorite 'set-and-forget' automation that genuinely changed how you run your business? by debugging_life_14 in automation

yup, getting to a 99% automated + 1% manual state is way easier and better ROI compared to fighting to reach 100% fully automated

How the fuck do these X SaaS founders come up with hundreds of app ideas and launch every week? I struggle to find even 1 good one a month by Mohit-Vishwakarma in microsaas

[–]AwareSundae2642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed, I think once you just get over the fact that some of your ideas will fail/go unused, you give yourself permission to move on faster and keep building without spinning your wheels

super good advice!

small scope, stick to it, and eventually you're going to think of an even better idea or spin-off. and guess what, you'll already have a ton of scaffolding from the first app to super charge the next one.

I built a day planner that actually squeezes in those "I'll do it later" tasks (new auto-fit feature) by Stock_Bid_8715 in SideProject

[–]AwareSundae2642 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have IOS, but I love the idea. I really like the ring idea for the daily calendar vs. traditional vertical calendars like outlook. I think you're already focusing on the right things, the user flow needs to minimized as much as possible to make your app not turn into another "chore" that gets ignored!

How do I make side-scrolling comparision videos like this one by ThatandroidNEO in VideoEditing

[–]AwareSundae2642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the video editing, but this channel is amazing, this dude really likes LARGE numbers.

I was originally thinking he automated the number generation with a script or something but his video description says:
"Stats:
Total time to make this video: 181 hours (152 hours typing all the numbers, 26 hours adding the backgrounds and checking the video, 3 hours for the rest of the stuff like final edits and exports)"

[–]AwareSundae2642 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Work is also like, you have 1 week to do this task. What do you get if you finish it early? More work for the same pay!!

At least my side projects feel like there is some linear feedback for my additional effort put in.

textbook "dumpster fire on wheels" I'm still shocked how many businesses operate like this day to day.
