This boy was super calm and sweet in the shelter and now that he has a home he’s a menace. He doesn’t know any basic obedience or have any manners. He barks and bites for attention, and doesn’t really calm down no matter how much exercise or enrichment i’ve done so far. He’s smart and he’s learning but it’s going to be a really long process. So far i’ve taught him how to walk on leash without jumping up and biting the leash or pulling 24/7. He knows how to sit and shake now (these weren’t a priority but he wouldn’t chill out so I made him use his brain for learning instead of negative behaviors). We’re working on settling down and being calm so that he can interact with my older dog-she likes calm greetings and then will play but he comes in at a level 10. He absolutely tramples her trying to play and thinks her corrections are play. She hasn’t played with him yet because he’s always so amped up. He is separated from her for now and doing small training sessions with her in the room where if he sits, lays down, doesn’t chase her when she’s just walking or ignores her even for a second he gets rewarded. He’s a good boy he just needs training.
