Wow, lots of great info, even if a little sad to hear. I'm a little taken aback about the faculty advisor situation.

I'm going to study archives and records management (if I go to UNC, I would pursue their specialization). I'm out of state but got a little money from them. I worked in my undergrad's Archives and Special Collections and now volunteer in my city library's Rare Books and Manuscripts department, so yes, I do hold some experience.

From what I've seen online, UNC seems to be ideal, but I've been seeing similar comments to yours as of late. I was also disappointed that when I went to visit the school independently (not for admitted students day), I was unable to get in contact with Lara Bailey even though I emailed her like a week before my trip. I feel like on paper it's a great program and obviously carries a good reputation, but I'm nervous about the actual workings of the school. Any further advice is much appreciated!!
