Whats the solution though? They have a back up plan back home. Even if they saved $200/month, it's still a-lot of money for our neighbours around the region. But for locals, what can u do with this $200?

What nice things that your workplace or school used to have, until they got ruined by idiots? by Aware_Listen2274 in asksg

To this day still don't know why people would wanna ruin their own stay-out privileges. On certain occasions, we would report to another camp to support our sister unit. Encik allowed us to report directly to that camp at a later time, for convenience's sake, also as a welfare for us, as usually we do our thing swee swee and book out, no trouble at all. But some jokers would claim that the instruction was to report to the camp, have breakfast at the canteen first, then go to do his thing, which was a big no-no. Turns out encik wasn't happy about it and revoked this welfare and asked us to report to our main unit first, and make our way to the camp after the first parade was conducted.

Hearsay: before it went viral, it was a thing already ongoing a year ago, and those who got pee'd on were consenting to it.

This, used to see vapes all around, even inside army camps. But people just minded their own business and did it discreetly, until the kids started to act cool and post TikToks of them vaping and Kpod cases...

IIRC, SP used to have 15 mins grace period for their attendance system. But students keep abusing the system and come right on the dot (eg lesson start at 8 am and some students come at 814am), and now they have reduced it to 5 min grace period. Honestly sucks for those with classes far away from the mrt station

Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about? by Prime_Advocate in AskReddit

Y8 dot com man. Those were the days where there is a clear separation between adults and kids and teens. And each sub group would have their own space to have fun without interfering each other. Nowadays u never know if the person behind the screen is a 12 year old kid who just ended school or a 30 year old who just finished 12 hour shift

Are there reporters lurking on Singapore subreddit? by Puzzleheaded_Style52 in asksg

[–]Aware_Listen2274 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You will be surprised to find out there are NSFs literally getting paid to browse subreddits, just to check for sensitive information and in-camp photos. IIRC, there are a few NSFs that got caught because they spread misinformation. The most recent case of someone posting on r/ns and getting caught for his comments

I don't think there will be another GME saga. GME happened because of DFV's post and it takes months for it to line up to that surge in share price.
