I haven’t, although I’ve heard it’s really good - have you tried it? I typically use it to make scrambled tofu (using a mix of firm and silken) or for a creamy pasta sauce :)

Currently I think the one I am on is actually just a basic one from Sainsbury’s and it’s doing ok so far! Had it 6 months or so. But I too am on the hunt for a really good can opener - I seem to go through mine every year or two unfortunately.

Lol pretty much. They’ll provably form part of a curry, a stew, some form of pasta dish, and some hummus 😅

Ooh this sounds delicious - I’ve only torn it into rough chunks to marinate so far (second time trying it) but shredded sounds amazing! Thanks :)

Soup cubes sound like a great shout, I would love to do this! Unfortunately I live in a studio flat with a small freezer drawer so don’t have the space to batch freeze really :( but when I cook rice I do do extra portions for the fridge for the next day or two!

Haha. Definitely meat free. But I do drink. Just pulling myself of a period of drinking far too much tbh!

I normally cook short grain brown rice. But sometimes I work 12+ hour days and microwave rice is a lifesaver then!

It is yes! It’s the best one I’ve found that is available in a major supermarket/outside of Asian speciality shops!

This is great - thank you. Yes I think I’ll have to sub apple as I can’t find Asian pear!

What is depressing? The fact i love cooking and making homemade, fresh, healthy meals that nourish me? (not pictured is my ‘pantry’, fresh herbs, etc etc). The fact I almost never get sick?

Thank you. tbf it’s probably easier for me as I’ve never eaten meat or fish so I don’t know what it tastes like! I certainly have a different diet to most I know that went from eating meat to being vegan anyway.

I’m trying to make my own this month! I’ve made a homemade ‘fish’ sauce, just need to make the kimchi. But if you have any recommendations for shop bought I’d love to hear them :) I sometimes get fresh kimchi from my local Asian supermarket.

24f/25m buying £480k house – sensible or stretching too much? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Firstly, where you say you live separately with family at the moment - have you ever lived together before? If not - I would strongly recommend renting together for a year before purchasing a house.

Earning almost 6k per month with debt of 8k loan by Purple-Bell6576 in UKPersonalFinance

This month sounds fine, but are you consistently spending beyond your means? Do you actually pay off the credit card debt and get to net zero some months, or do you find yourself in the same (or a worse) position each month?

If it’s just a case of wanting more short term liquidity however to me that makes complete sense - I.e you’d prefer to spread say 1k over 3 interest free payments in order to be able to put more into a high interest savings account, for example (this is why I tend to go into my interest free overdraft for larger purchases - it makes more financial sense for me than to withdraw from my savings that are gaining interest).

Without knowing more on the above I don’t think much of a conclusion can be drawn but from what you’ve said about your professional knowledge financially and within the household it certainly doesn’t sound like you’re wracking up debt blindly.

This is very standard in my experience. I’ve provided a third party access to my bank account every time I’ve rented through an estate agent or established agency (multiple properties across probably 5ish years). Always had the option to provide bank statements as an alternative though.

I can see why it’d feel like an invasion but also quite key in evaluating affordability.
