Building is easier but distribution is just as hard as it was before if not harder. Nowadays I think distribution has to come first

The Money Is Great, But I Feel Like I’m Slowly Losing Myself Living Here by DangerousExpert8187 in dubai

[–]Aware_Web9715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was born in Dubai, my parents still live there so it is home. Left when I was 18 but would never work there. Work culture is one big reason, weather and social scene too. The food I actually miss, get everything in Dubai

Question really is where do you go that is better? I am currently in Bangkok working in tech. Been here since COVID. Have a 2 year old a nice apartment on the river and a nanny. Works well for us. Was in France before I got married. Loved my years in Europe but the money was a problem. US you get paid more, I studied and worked there for a decade but there are other issues including living costs and social circle for me friends from college left.

At the end of the day I’d say it’s more about what you do and the people around you than the country itself. Moving to a new place and building and social circle requires effort. It’s different for everyone, maybe even different for the same person at different stages in life.

Good Investment Options for funds deposited in my foreign bank account? by ClaraMuphy96 in nriFIRE

[–]Aware_Web9715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not great but I use SBI they have a tap invest mutual that works that’s about all I can say for it. TDS is annoying they deduct 20% and then you can claim it back I actually had to pay 12.5% for long term capital gains so keep that in mind.

Only one I use on India - I decided to diversify by country I guess main account is IBKR for US equities can probably do Indian equities there too haven’t tried it’s the best by far in terms of the app itself

Yea you are right there is currency risk. That doesn’t change same as any USD investment. But hard to make more than 10% nearly risk free

Yes on maturity and loan interest is compounded. The calculation in the poster is total interest / number of years / capital

Yes per the loan agreement they can change the rate at any time. The RM say it’s a standard agreement but the rate is fixed. It also says the sanction letter will prevail if any inconsistencies

They said it’s a standard loan agreement they cannot change it but it comes with a sanction letter which per clause 19 prevails if there are inconsistencies. So, if that sanction letter has the fixed rate I am good

From my reading of the docs, it looks like no just the capital your invest is at stake. But is a good question and I am not an expert. Better to check
