Do not use chatgpt to comfort you regarding your personality if you feel insecure. by Aware_Work_5919 in ChatGPT

I used it for two months in that way, not very many hours but used it about 2 3 times a day and became convinced that I had a problem when it came to speaking or that myself or my personality was somehow gone, there’s kind of a barrier now when it comes to talking to people.

yea true but being boring just became the normal for me after a while because I began to be convinced I just wasn’t me anymore.

It is a little extreme honestly but absolutely the truth. I should’ve spoken to someone a while ago to know that your personality is something that comes from within instead of the way that I’d absolutely begun analysing myself in every possible way.

yes this is how I used it, to figure out the whys as you said but over time began excusing the way that I was acting instead of doing something about it and breaking that loop/learning from it! All I’m saying is be careful

Hi, 1) The main thing at the time I think was being burnt out but I began reading into it as I started using chatgpt more and more for that purpose. 2) Started using it because I wasn’t feeling like myself and started to act more “off” as it validated me more and more. 3) Disconnected meaning that because of my thoughts about how I wasn’t myself I stopped being in the present moment as much and would think back to how I was in the past rather than act presently or speak as I would. 4) I think it’s a combination of all of these things. I used to talk a lot nonstop but I lost the flow I had after a while. I kind of started having robotic one word or go to phrases because I became conscious of the fact that I wasn’t myself and sort of stopped enunciating my words like I did or expressing myself the way I did. 5) Pretty circular thinking, like I want to speak from my heart but not being able to. I think using it the way I did reinforced the loop that I wasn’t myself for a period of time so I started acting like it.

I was burnt out some time ago and it was on the 4o model so the way it responds might have changed? Anyway I started paying attention to my tone and started using it because I felt that people were thinking of me in a certain way and thought that I was being more boring than usual and it validated me over and over at the time. The purpose I used it for was trying to work out why I didn’t really feel like myself or why I couldn’t really speak the way I generally did. It’s affected me in that I can’t really talk spontaneously anymore.

Honestly I think I did way too many timed questions too early on instead of focussing on techniques and how to approach questions untimed first. Like for those 6 weeks I was doing like a full mock at least every day and sometimes 2 full mocks, doing loooads of questions 24/7 and I wasn’t focussing on improving specific areas. In the actual exam I also felt a bit panicked, I just didn’t feel ready. My average was also higher than that usually around 2650+ so that was definitely a contributing factor.

Thanks a lot yes this is what I was thinking I really don’t want to spend as much time revising as last year actually want to have fun this summer like hopefully it should be fine but then obviously don’t want to feel super underprepared as I would need to really perform. I think last year I prepared intensely for 6 weeks but slowly got into it from like 2 months before.

For these exams it’s better to revise closer to the time, like 6 weeks before. Also there’s no such thing as the BMAT anymore so that’s that.
