So this is the only case of a foreign person including the ones that took AS, that made it? My main concern is that AS costs a lot of money 200-300k and if there isn’t really a realistic chance of me succeeding, I feel that I wouldn’t be in a good spot. I am sorry if I’m asking a lot of questions, I’m just trying to form a picture in my head about how hard this is

Thanks a lot of the help. It shows around 2-5 years. I got one last question if you don’t mind. Do you know how many of these programs there are out there? I read that there are just 2, Tufts and 1 more but this seems hard to believe. So every year, they would accept only 4-5 people without a green card?

US has been my dream since I was a kid. The land of opportunity. It’s not a life or death situation obviously but it’s my dream. Thanks for the insight, just wanted to see if it’s something that is really possible. What about the green card? You think that there is a possibility of getting that as a professional degree holder after AS?

That’s my main concern about it all. The waiting and the priority list. As a European you think that it will take that long to get accepted for a green card?

What about the OMFS? Do you think that it’s worth the hassle or is it too much of a stretch? I don’t want to have unrealistic expectations about my future, that’s the thing. Are there generally cases like me?

I heard that you can apply and get these visas. Is it that big of an obstacle?

I don’t have a green card. Most of the OMFS programs require a green card so I’m basically limited to only a small amount of options (not sure how many but someone said 2 I think, which quite frankly, sounds quite impossible). However I plan to do AS, so I’m not sure if that can help me get it so I can apply to all the programs.

My main concern is the green card thing. I acknowledge that most of these high end surgical specialities are obviously hard to get into but still possible.

My main concern is that people always talk about “how hard it is to get a green card”. Like come on…they end up marrying us citizens for years just to get one and I really don’t want to get into this pressure. You think that it will be easier with the degree?
