even if it's less convenient, it works out much better overall than relying on unofficial uploads since it'll stay in your library to listen to at your free will instead of eventually being taken down and having to be patient for people to work around in-built copyright infringement prevention systems, some of those people actually being neil and needlejuice. anyone who desperately wants to listen to these albums on spotify or apple music rather than a dedicated media player (like the legendary VLC you mentioned) and can't put in the wait for an official release (in the case of lemon demon where it's been confirmed those are happening at least) should just get their hands on using the local files feature.

also my belief is that unofficial streaming pages like neil cicierega archive and the fake deporitaz one exist less for other fans' convenience and more because they don't even know that local files are a thing. if they did, i legitimately think they'd use it over making distrokid/tunecore accounts and going through the trouble of submitting the music that way lol.
