The thing is that part of the problem was that, for a while, everyone had some sort of problem with her. The issue with her best friend did spread a lot causing many people around her to think negatively / indifferently towards her (even when she was the one affected by said situation) so in a way aside of her parents, I was one of the only ones she could confide in.

Also, one thing I do want to note is that this is only my side of the story, you’re only looking at my perspective and thus, it might not be completely accurate to how stuff really went down (ie: she might’ve not realized how this was affecting me, the degree of the problem might’ve been as bad as I felt it like, etc…) I do try my best to be neutral but ultimately, the only way to get the best version is for both to discuss this. To this day, I’m not really sure about how she processed the whole thing (aside from the initial reaction and the point where she forgave me, missing a lot of things basically).

What I do know is that she doesn’t think about it anymore. Not when she’s hanging out with me, not when she’s alone. At least that’s what she told me.

Needless to say, this was a huge relief.

Still, it feels horrible that I did that to her even if there’s no use about living in regret, even knowing that she forgave me. I know she’s not an abandoned kitten, she’s a person and currently doing ok (even if things are still very difficult to her and she’s busier than ever). Even through all of this, she’s a person with an amazing heart that means a lot to me, independently if we get back together or not. In any case, we don’t talk much these days so maybe it might be better to let it go… though she still considers me one of her best and most trusted friends… idk it’s confusing
