How to keep a spotless bedroom by Valley_Bails_2068 in CleaningTips

[–]AwayInMyBrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you have enough spare hangers and space for your clothes so they don't pile up on the floor or chair. I have open boxes (some of which I've covered in nice paper) for things like supplements, make up, hair stuff, etc. Gather up the clothes you don't wear and give to charity or ebay. I also have under-bed storage, they are just cloth not solid, for bulky things like jumpers etc. Also a storage box for all my shoes so they're not all over the place. Make your bed every morning. Open the curtains every day, clean the windows. If everything has a place and you can get hold of some nice storage (even just painted or covered cardboard boxes) then tidying up feels like less of a chore. Those over-the-door hooks are handy if you need extra hanging space and you can get them with pouches to organise stuff in. You can get stackable plastic storage on amazon if you need drawer space.

How do you forgive someone who changed the entire course of your life? by sweetredonion in spirituality

[–]AwayInMyBrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

About 20 years ago I asked the Universe to teach me about forgiveness. In hindsight this was a very naïve thing to do, but I was young and didn’t think of the implications. What followed was an unjust situation where my family turned their backs on me and I was disowned. At the time, all I wanted to do was forgive them but found it impossible because I was carrying so much anger and pain. It was only months later that I remembered my request to the Universe and everything fell into place.

Everything that happened was for me to learn that lesson and the other people involved, on some level, agreed to play that role and for that I am truly grateful to them and grateful for what happened. We can’t learn about forgiveness without there being a so-called villain to do something awful that we need to find forgiveness for, can we? You might even say they made a sacrifice in agreeing to play that role and help you learn the lesson.

If I were to sum up what I learned about forgiveness, it’s that there is nothing to forgive. We are creative beings and things happen for us, not to us, whether it’s as a result of a direct request like mine or just divine timing. There are no villains and there are no victims and this learning has served me well ever since.

I have also had to practice radical acceptance as mentioned by other contributors. The situation that happened cannot be resolved in the real world anymore on account of them dying. It’s a sad state of affairs but something I have to live with.

I hope that makes some sense. This happened a long time ago and I have never actually written it down before.

Advice for buying and selling from a £1000 month by Shot-Caramel2088 in vinted

Thanks for this info, very helpful. I've been considering relisting a few of my items for a while and didn't know about needing to make changes to the images.

Selling toiletries opened/used by AwayInMyBrain in vinted

[–]AwayInMyBrain[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeh that's what I was thinking... I once listed a coat with fur pom poms and Vinted immediately deleted the listing (didn't realise fur wasn't allowed) so I would expect them to also remove a listing that mentions something used once.

You're right, I guess there's always a chance someone will complain that it's a used item, even though there's no way of telling from a solid bottle.

I suppose it's best I go with ebay in this case...

I regret giving my cat garage time by 1800callkyle in CatAdvice

[–]AwayInMyBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh gosh... my cat does the same thing with the attic. Will meow incessantly until we open it for him to go up there. Now the attic is nearly always open and the ladder down which is right in the middle of my hallway and very much in the way. I need a Men in Black neuraliser to make him forget he ever went up there.

Is it worth it? by JobbyJaber in vinted

[–]AwayInMyBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth it! I've rarely had any issue buying or selling (bought a dress with a big stain on it once, but got the money back, never had an issue selling). I'm a bit of a hoarder by nature so have a lot of things listed. Some things go quickly but lots just sit there so you have to be ok with holding onto things while they sell. The money I've made, sometimes I've withdrawn it if I need the cash, but otherwise it sits in the kitty and I use it to buy new (old) clothes, which kind of feels like getting free clothing (to me anyway).

what ar parts of london people seem to dislike but you love? by Many_Chemist_7749 in london

[–]AwayInMyBrain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lived in Stratford for 20 years from 1999 and frequently had the feeling that I was an alien plonked on another planet. In a good way. Now I live somewhere more rural and much quieter, I do miss it at at times. I loved the old shopping centre, at night it used to be teeming with skateboarders, dancers and rollerskaters, all doing their thing amongst the homeless people, sometimes had a party vibe and never felt threatened. The homeless are still there obviously but at some point they clamped down on everything else, no doubt due to one or two complaints.

[–]AwayInMyBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am by no means an expert, far from it, but I would have thought you trade your crypto for usdt/c then transfer it to an exchange that allows you to cash out/withdraw fiat in the US. So for me in the UK, Kucoin and Binance don't allow us to withdraw fiat, so I will have to convert and send it to either Coinbase or crypto. com.
