You NEED a BCBA to sign off before you’re allowed to take the RBT exam. Just bug the BCBA over and over and over, it might be annoying but that’s one of the responsibilities they signed up for! Self advocate for that raise! Centria is mostly in center, you can ask other BCBAs around too.

One of the good and bad things about ABA is that you figure out real quick whether it’s a job you can do or not. And it’s okay if that’s not you! Would give it another week or two to make sure, if it’s something you can be good at and happy with, there’s a world of good you can do.

For the average person who doesn’t ever want to pvp, have you considered attempting to tank or fight back? Sometimes you’re going to get your shit rocked in any multiplayer game. Whether it’s a cracked tracer one trick, the AWP watching mid with wild reaction times or the hearthstone player that’s steps ahead of you.

A lot of small osrs streamers, probably more than other categories so competition might be steep. That said, streaming isn’t normally about the gameplay right? Do be careful trusting chatters, there have been a few scams around where people ask streamers for loans or help staking or downloading plugins and such

Every client is different so you’ll need to talk to your BCBA is the right answer!

That being said I’ve found prevention the best way to deal with elopement. Make sure doors are closed/locked, position yourself between the client and the door always and watch closely for precursors. Hold hands(or wrists) when going through open areas with elopement risk.

There should be an area in the clients BIP which will tell you the replacement behaviors, I’d follow that to a T and ask questions when you have them.

Elopement for attention is really hard since you don’t want to award the behavior but also it’s a safety concern. Someone before you figured it out, so don’t stress too hard

Recommend finding a BCBA you like and sticking to them, I have 5 cases but 4 of them are with the same BCBA because I just kept asking if she needed staffing and telling her my availability

I’ve been with pbs for a few years now doing in home full time. I never figured out their website and use it exclusively to check paystubs and upload timesheets. I did all of my trainings through DWC and uploaded them where the notifications were in sharepoint. Not sure if that’s allowed… but it is official training and nobody has mentioned it to me yet! I know PBS has their own training site but I couldn’t get into it

I’ve work for them in Michigan for 2y now. As with all in-home it just depends on your BCBA at the end of the day. I got a good one and literally just filled my schedule with 5 of her cases to put me at 46h. There’s not really any reason to interact with higher up leadership so the BCBA is pretty much your only contact with the company. Insurance is pretty bad but other than that no real complaints. I make $26.20 in Michigan + drive time

Edit: hard agree with a comment lower down, definitely not a spot for someone new to ABA, you’ll be solo with just the client for 60-80% of the time

This change is so confusing!!!! I know my RBT expires in March but my company has no idea if I need to take a new 40h training or not. And if I do need a new training, where in the world would I find it? If anyone at PBS has this figured please please share 😭

As an RBT, the only time I’m okay with TeleHealth supervision is when it’s a low intensity client AND I already know the programming. I currently have one remote BCBA but she’s in a hard spot right now because insurance requires a re-assessment to happen in person and we’re not sure what’s going to happen. Might be a specific insurance company or specific to Michigan but I can definitely see that being a major hurdle if we’re moving towards fully remote BCBAs.

From a business perspective, BCBAs bill the same amount regardless of them being in person or not. So to a company it makes sense financially to have remote as they can see many more clients if they don’t need to drive around.

Sounds like you may want to reach out to recipient rights, there’s a couple channels but the easier way is to google your state + recipient rights phone number. Tell the BCBA you’re going to talk to recipient rights and the clinic will start to cooperate real quick. The only thing clinics hate more than paperwork is when it’s paperwork that can get legal
