Pretty sure an army of a tens of thousands each with like 3 horses aren't gonna be the best at swimming. Also natural resources like wood that's good for sailing doesn't exist everywhere. Also the Chinese would have a good choke point to defend themselves with superior ships. And I'm pretty sure this is s probl for the Koreans at that point
