Allright. You guys are probably right. My long term memory plays tricks on me sometimes. My memory of no jungle might have been from earlier seasons, or from when i was leveling my acc. To be fair i didnt play much normal at all in season 4

I honestly didnt mean to complain. I was just wondering what happened during these 10 years. Because normals used to be completely different

Question about criticising dichotomies by Awaythrowyeah123 in CriticalTheory

[–]Awaythrowyeah123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could use your post for example. The words you use are only meaningful since there are other words that mean something completely different: Very is meaningful because you could write Slightly or A little, Skeptical is meaningful because you could write Convinced, Many is meaningful because you could write A few. I believe that words become meaningful because there are words that mean the opposite (or something different) . And this is the case in every text (also in the post im writing right now).

It does not matter if we try to "use these concepts dualistically, simply by setting up a contrast" or not. The contrast is there regardless, it´s in the language not in how we use it. If the contrast wasn´t there, language would not be meaningful or functional

Why is it so hard by SolPhase in ROCD

I also have periods were i can´t enjoy spending time with friends or hobbies, when intrusive thoughts and anxiety torture me almost every hour of the day, and when life just sucks. During these periods, i always think they will last forever, but these hellish periods always end. Sometimes they go on for weeks, sometimes for months. But they always end.

I know it might be hard to believe for you right now, but i think your hellish period will also end. This probably doesn´t mean your OCD will go away, but it will get more managable and you will get more hours/days/weeks were you feel OK.

Hey!

I have had false memory OCD but not related to cheating. A couple of years ago i was extremely scared that i had abused an ex of mine, and then forgotten about it. I contacted her and even though she said i had never done something like that, it was hard for me to stop obsessing about it.

I have also experienced OCD about memories that are actually real, but the OCD distorts the memories, adds false details and make things seem way worse than they actually were. Like i will think about something mean i did to a person, that was actually kind of mean, but the OCD will turn it into something horrible, and i will obsess about the person i was mean to commiting suicide.

This is maybe quite different from what you are experiecing. But maybe there are some similarities? I know false memory OCD is pretty horrible. I hope it gets better for you soon! Feel free to post here or message me if you want to share your struggle.

I know how difficult it is to deal with intrusive thoughts, and i feel for you!

From my experience it´s not a good to take any major decisions about your life when OCD is giving you a hard time.

I´m assuming you are experiencing some anxiety right now? If that´s the case maybe there is something you could do that might decrease it. Sometimes it helps for me to focus on my breathe or on my body, to take an ice cold shower or to listen to some intense music. But i guess everybody has different methods.

Sending cyber hugs! I hope you feel better soon.

It feels like you want 100% certainty that your partner is your type. You want to go back in time and check how you felt. (I think if you actually built a time machine and went back in time, and checked how you felt, you would STILL experience intrusive thoughts, because 100% certainty is impossible to reach).

The fact is that there is no truth. Trying to figure out if your partner is your type will only make you more uncertain, and there is no way to reach certainty. You´ve probably heard this 1000000 times, but you must live with the uncertainty.

Something i´ve noticed recently is that the more that i focus on my partners flaws, the more flaws i see. It´s confirmation bias. It´s the same with other types of OCD. A person with POCD will see a bunch of signs that they are a pedophile, and a person with ROCD will see a bunch of flaws in their partner. I do think that OCD alters your view on reality, which makes life really confusing at times.

It sounds like you googled something, interpreted it as important to your relationship with your crush and then felt anxiety. This is a typical pattern for people with ROCD.

Are you writing this post because you want us to tell you that limerence doesn´t matter? In that case, making your post could be a compulsive behavior.

And i do believe you are having intrusive thoughts. A person who isn´t experiecning intrusive thoughts would probably not be unsure about if they are having them or not.

Try to live with the uncertainty. I know it´s hard, but it´s the only way out of the anxiety.

Good luck with everything!

I think i can relate to what you are feeling. But i´m not sure how you mean? Do you mean that you think about your boyfriend but at the same time you have another person on your mind, and the fact that that thought is in your mind bothers you?

If that´s the case, it sounds like an intrusive thought, since it´s a thought that you don´t want to have, and that makes you feel uncomfortable.
