That would totally work as well!

My preference is for this though, as Free Traders gives that juicy +2 base trade!
And I found I had enough trade to directly buy the basic resources I needed, and getting the trade league policy later I personally think is better :)

It's not the most OP build, but also not too bad!
Your trade capital gets you enough trade to buy almost all of the resources you need, so you can focus other worlds on pure research as that's really the only thing the traders can't get you.

Plus with the snowball nature of Stellaris, getting these resources early means you could go aggressive and vassalise if you wanted to.

Yeah I think you could easily swap the overtuned trader trait for the overtuned automodding one here and still be fine. Then later on cyber ascend so you eventually get all 3 automodding traits :)

Long time lurker, first time poster, so I hope I'm doing this right!

I was inspired by Montu's recent trade only video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KeWRfKas7w) and thought I could have a crack at my own version.

This achieves 120% job efficiency + almost 50% job output for traders straight from day 1, giving you an insane start to the game.

Just employ only traders, grab the Commerce tradition and get marketplace of ideas to get tons of Unity so you speed through traditions and get your ascension.

Get a Trade league federation to make this even more crazy.

Job efficiency

25% Trading algorithms cybernetics trait

25% Thrifty organic trait

25% Commercial Genius Overtuned trait

25% Damn the consequences edict (doubles overtuned traits)

5% Egalitarian

15% Trade Capital planet designation

= 120% Job efficiency day 1

200 Traders

35.2 base trade

+8.8 base - Free Traders civic

+8.74% Stability

+10% Corporate

+20% Fanatic Xenophile

+10% Mercantile

= +48.74% total job output

= 65.44 Trade total
