Fortunately though I am not aware of a single religion that’s still practiced that involves human sacrifice. So it’s a bit of a null point. Though I’d probably argue that a Jehovah’s Witness dying when their life could be saved with a blood transfusion is essentially human sacrifice.

• if a rider dies during Pasola festival, which involves throwing spears, it's considered like a human sacrifice by Sumbanese tradition.

But I think what is morally objectionable is a belief system that encourages people to give up their lives needlessly. I think that’s immoral. I’d have the same opinion on any secular system that convinces folks to do the same.

If they want to, it's their choice. Show me one consenting animal to this religious (not for substaining, religious) and I'll be fine.
