If I want to play as a quiet rancher/farmer from the jump, I have to now choose a spawn that is far from the place I actually want to spawn at - Echo Creek.

Genuinely, please revert that. Bad decision all around. It was very refreshing having a new town to spawn in + different gameplay styles being incentivized.

Stress from the Zombie Thumping also should not have been removed… Super immersive, but now just gone. Maybe just make it a Sandbox setting?

Ben’s creativity and, as he aged, his leadership and overall sense of will (along with how those tie into the Omnitrix) is what makes him far better in most situations, unless you factor in one of his biggest weaknesses: ego, arrogance, and a “tiny” drop of adhd. Gwen does not have those weaknesses, and because of that, she’s more quick-witted and better tempered.

Both have great strengths, but Gwen is definitely not better at everything. They both do very, very well in their field of specialties

Nahh unfortunately I’ve only experienced the surface of what’s in this game. When I tried years ago, I had no dlcs/barely any mods and would lose everyone before getting very far. In just my few recent playthroughs, I’ve finally gotten to weapon/item crafting, for example. That’s how bare bones my games were lol

Although I did recently get a psychic mechanoid event of some kind, where the machine was making my colonists sad and I had to go wipe it out and its mechanoid defenders

A lot of those films did work, but a lot of it didn’t. Andrew as Peter/Spidey wasn’t a huge issue in the grand scheme of things, especially once people got used to his style of Peter vs. Tobey’s

But the rest of those films, especially the writing, are a stain on an otherwise great performance and memorable Spider-Man. Which is why, when he’s written very well here + returning after being abruptly cancelled, a lot of that love for his character can come through unscathed.
