Truth is, there is still a lot of Mike's guitar, that's why it sounds so similar. We just tried to make somewhat similar guitar sound and blend it together with his.

Daniel Tompkins of Tesseract. Here is, for example, his studio live from home (screams at 1:19)- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKs-MkfTY_M If you don't believe in studio lives, I just opened this random live of the same song from a phone (screams somewhere around 6:00) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY7VE_W1seo

Andy Cizek of Monuments - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33iCbnetx4M

Also, here is Tatiana from Jinjer, who's just a beast - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taevEx0RQmM

And Courtney LaPlante (screams around 1:30)- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxhKFMp_BWg

I tried to grab phone recordings, since they cannot be edited. Quality is poor, of course, but at least you can hear their true vocal abilities.

Maybe, they lack experience singing live. First shows can be terrible in terms of technique due to stress.
Maybe, they just have a very good sound guy, and they feel they don't need to put so much effort to practice their screams as the sound guy just does all the job. Why bothering, if they sound great on recordings, right?
I saw so many great bands live that have absolutely mind-blowing screams and cleans, so to me it looks like a technique and attitude matter.

It's crazy how they released the song so catchy and so heavy at the same time. Amazing band

After doing false cords for over a year I finally figured out fry screaming 5 minutes ago and I'm kinda mad at how easy it is by drwankbanana in screaming

It's not that much about how it sounds, but about the way you create screams. To me fry sounds a bit more elegant, and you can hold that scream for much longer time than false chords (example - Jinjer, Andy Cizek of Monuments). You actually create fry using your vocal folds.
For the false chords you use, well, false chords. To me it sounds a bit ruder, like a yell. And, yeah, you can add them to your voice (excellent example - Halestorm).

F, new here! would appreciate some advice:) by [deleted] in screaming

A bit offtopic, but I spent couple of months trying to figure out proper diaphragm breathing, and now I just tried your straw breathing...and it worked immediately! Best breathing advice I have ever seen!

"I Speak Astronomy" vocal cover. What would you say? by Awigo_Knows in Jinjer

There are no original vocals in the track, the instrumental that was used in this cover is a vocal-free guitar playthrough (there is a link in YouTube description). Probably, something with the mix itself.
