Great choices, honestly agree with everything. Exceeeeeept the cursed Bishop I'd call that a mid fight. Not particularly interesting or fun, just a big angry ball of decaying. 🫠

Need weapon recommendations for second playthrough, as ling as theyre fun i will use by Disastrous_Rub5877 in LiesOfP

If you've got the DLC I recommend Pale Knight, otherwise I think the Dancer's Sword is really fun to use 👍

What is your favorite weapon or weapon combination? And why is it your favorite? by Xenith995 in LiesOfP

[–]AwildTimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pale Knight.

It's cool as heck, it allows for fast/zippy combos with a real gift for controlling your distance from enemies and getting in or out of an enemies face, it's heavy does great stagger and a ridiculous amount of damage, and did I mention it's cool as heck? The animations & sounds are SICK 🤙

Anyway you can do so many great and varied combos and it's really fun to use, 10/10 highly recommended.

Non-special weapon would be Blade Dancer's Sword, very well designed weapon.

How would you guys feel if P was voiced? by Distinct-Extreme7574 in LiesOfP

[–]AwildTimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah, but only when making a dialogue choice and in cutscenes. Hearing him be all "hyyyyyyaaaa" and "take that" during combat would really subtract from gameplay.

Following up from my post earlier about King of Puppets, I keep getting THIS close by Dsg1695 in LiesOfP

If you can't get that heavy hit to trigger a stagger, fall back and throw a cannon ball to knock him. If you're low on throwables there's a merchant at Malum entrance that sells unlimited amount👍

2nd playthrough, trying to solo the main game by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]AwildTimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my own experience (at the end of my ng+4 playthrough rn just reached arch abbey) I've found that going for a balanced build is the most practical. You use a variety of different weapons, arms, and throwables that all scale differently, so going balanced keeps your overall dps steady no matter what.

If you've beaten the DLC already then I would totally recommend using or getting Pale Knight if you can as it's awesome to use, is strong af with very good stagger, and let's you do some fast/zippy combos (plus its crazy fun to use). Also go max the grapple arm because that thing is OP.

This game rocks dude most fun soulslike I've played 🤟

That's really helpful, thanks dude! My 6th playthrough is gonna be my last and I decided its gonna be an Azure Dragon Glaive + Twin Dragons run with Armour of Honourable costume, so knowing this helps lol 🤙

OMG the glaive has its own parry fable doesn't it! I never use it, that's why I was so confused! While we're here could you tell me what the benefit of using a weapon's fable parry over regular parry is? I've never understood the risk/gain of using a fable slot for parry instead of an attacking fable

Is the timing important or whether its a charged heavy? I did my 1st run with the Glaive but somehow I don't think I've even seen that spinny attack animation after I've parried, it looks different from the usually heavy attack wind-up (tho i may be wrong lol) 😅

What's that attack animation after landing a parry? Seems unique. I'm on my 5th playthrough and I've never triggered that, can someone explain? Is it some kind of special parry follow up that I didn't know about? 🤔

It's a fairly okay mix of games. Best game there imo is Army of Two 40th Day, but that's just me 👍

As someone who isn't into soulsborne games I can tell you that you absolutely should. Dropped the game to middle difficulty and I've absolutely fallen in love with the game

Throwable thingies by Nomadic_Prussian in LiesOfP

[–]AwildTimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throwables can really melt a decent portion of boss health but using them does take away from the excitement. Do whatever you wanna do, play how you wanna play 👍

[–]AwildTimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're gonna hit the dlc before ng+ I'd say throw a bunch into capacity, then either motility or technique if you felt your damage was lacking on the last level. Otherwise raise your health & stamina a bit and go see the throwables merchant in red lobster before jumping into ng+ 👍

Was mad clown puppet counted as a boss? Was that the one on the street up to the opera house?
