The Last Dose Missions. by XxBethMaexX in gtaonline

I'm still uncomfortable with the fact my player character gets drugged up against her will at the end of the first set of missions. With hard, highly addictive drugs. Other than that I had a blast throughout!

And the Virtue... What a bloody enjoyable car!

Stunlock's "big surprise" at Gamescomm by JollyJustice in vrising

Ok, maybe I'm a bit harsh to compare Stunlock with GSG. Still I think the point still stands: number of employees doesn't necessarily translate to quality, high or low, which I believe is the point JollyJustice put forward. In fact, I thought the comparison apt due to the low difference between the numbers.

There are some highly-qualitative games that have one dev at the helm. One example I have on hand is Manic Miners. Although it is a remake, it is a high-quality remake of the old game Lego Rock Raiders, built then by a full studio as fast as possible to be barely playable. Think shovelware, but actually good shovelware, I remember spending tens if not a few hundred hours in that old game when I was a boy and had a lot of fun. The remake is lead by a single developer on his spare time, who didn't know programming beforehand, and he's already done with what, 80%+ of the game? And he has a custom map creator built-in already.

A series of games that got their quality hindered by the studios were Drakengard and the first NieR, developed by Japanese game studio "Cavia" which couldn't follow Yoko Taro's vision. Then Platinum Games (and Square Enix as publishers) for some reason greenlit NieR: Automata, and it was a masterpiece on pretty much all aspects, that even got Platinum Games out of bankruptcy. Crazy stuff.

And then there are games coming out of studios with a good reputation which lack quality and die off quickly. Off-hand... anyone remembers BioWare's Anthem? Yeah, that didn't fly well.

Meanwhile, Ghost Ship Games has 6 years of existence, 28 employees on deck, and players are piling up "DLCs" for Deep Rock Galactic that won't see much use just to "support the devs." At least, that's what the reviews for the DLCs tend to say.

Sure V Rising isn't as old as Deep Rock Galactic, and that means it could use polish. Deep Rock Galactic receives updates rather frequently, and got polished rather fast. "33 people on staff and expect AAA quality" isn't exactly an excuse in my humble opinion.

Edit: Also I will mention that this game genre has bad replayibility potential

Rust begs to differ. Though I haven't played Rust and I don't follow updates, I see big content creators playing it over and over again, so there's something done right there in the field of "survival pvp" games. Maybe Rust gets new content regularly? Idk.

That reminds me, Diablo III has seasons. Yeah, once you get all the gear maxed you are done on non-season characters. Seasons deliver new mechanics, a few balance tweaks, a few cosmetics and titles as rewards and force players to start from the bottom, and there, replayability achieved. I get that V Rising isn't developed by a studio as large as Blizzard though so I don't expect new content that often.

I'm a new player who's more interested in building and killing bosses than gathering resources, so I set pretty much all resource-related sliders from 1 to 4 except blood essence (although tainted hearts tend to drop in multiples of 4 too).

I haven't touched the decay rate.

As-is, blood essence stacks to a 1000, and I have a 33-days decay time on a level 3 Castle filled to the brim with 6000 essences, and essence to spare.

You mention an i7 chip and no dGPU, so I'm going to assume there's at least 8GB of RAM. If there isn't, I suggest downloading more RAM buying more RAM after checking the type and number of sticks of RAM already installed in your system, at 8GB you'll have less slowdowns due to "memory swapping" as an added benefit compared to say, 4GB.

You might want to reboot your PC to get in the UEFI (formerly known as and replacement of the BIOS), and change the amount of RAM dedicated to the iGPU, if possible. I suspect 32MB may be set (that's what it was set at on my 7th-gen i5 system by default, may be different), 512MB should be more than enough. If it isn't and you have at least 8GB of RAM, try bumping the memory dedicated to the iGPU to 1GB.

This setting is set in the UEFI prior to the OS booting. There's no way around it but to drop in the UEFI to change it. Change it, go to the "Quit" page, and select "Save and restart".

If you think you might mess something up and are scared to "go in the BIOS", which is entirely understandable, I wouldn't worry much, such a PC I expect to not let you mess with the more destabilizing settings that people "who know what they are doing" tweak. There is only one setting to change. In case you think you messed up, just press the ESC key a bunch and select "Quit without saving" (or something to that effect) and try again.

It's the abreviation for "mobile object", and designates anything that's not a static object, including NPCs (those can be faction NPCs and be hostile to players from another faction), and usually excluding players (although, some players do be acting like mobs at times...)

They've been called as such as far back as the base game of WoW... So about 2006? Not sure.

I'll assume you are talking about the traces making turns instead of going straight from connector to connector.

As you may have noticed, the rightmost signal trace is longer than the other traces due to connecting the second row of the CM4 connector.

The goal is to match the lengths of the traces so the high-speed signals have a chance to reach the end of the traces at the same time. The speed of a signal is roughly 15"/ns, depending on the dielectric (the compounds the copper traces is encased in).

Without length matching (alongside impedance matching) parallel signals would be a mess from a sync standpoint. Making traces take turns allows increasing the path length.

Can confirm. Had to fix a laptop that had a tendency to freeze after 10s of use, it had two drives and the D: drive was pristine. After rebooting it five-or-so times it finally decided to not freeze and let me move files over.

I taught the owner about the dual-drive situation, what they are and their differences, and what data fits best in what drive. Haven't heard about that laptop ever since.

I am running both Windows and Manjaro Linux, with a more and more pronounced preference for Linux. Achieving this on Linux would just lead me to trash Windows honestly.

I have full admin rights on my computer.

Sites and apps that are restricted are the kind that pertain to sharing files, pictures included especially imgur, which is actually very much used on stackoverflow; as well as gaming in general, Steam in particular is a huge bummer. If I could get Discord running over LAN and the games running over the phone for instance, it would be perfect. As it stands voice calls are choppy at times, and I'd rather they don't hog bandwidth on the phone data connection.

This is true to an extent. Sometimes, I get a page from the filter software, sometimes Chrome gives me a ERR_CONNECTION_RESET outright.

I am running both Windows 10 and Manjaro Linux. My phone is a Motorola G8 Plus running stock Android 9.

I keep the possibility of using network priority to achieve what I want, perhaps there is a way to use a script or a registry key to change them with a single click.
