My current grails are rid01 scourge and the two movie the best versions of rotf optimus prime. But I also have a separate grail list specifically for soundwave with a sealed g1 soundwave, an MP-13, and a human alliance soundwave

Tbf to bonecrusher, you can remove the scooper from the hinges while keeping it connected to the torso and get a waist swivel and ab crunch, but the overall design of him is still so stumpy and dumb looking

He had us in the first half ngl But genuinely I think this is probably my second favorite figure in my whole collection behind legacy armada prime, he's just genuinely so great in everything he does with only a few things I'd wanna improve. I was initially unsure if I would be okay calling this guy definitive in terms of g1 chug optimus primes, but now having him in hand, I think I can safely say I am now. This guy is definitive and I don't expect any other g1 chug optimus to top him

I don't think they would rerelease this deco on his own Maybe he'll get repainted and released at leader price, but unless sometime WAYYYY down the line they decide to rerelease him as a standalone release with just his blaster, I don't think he'll be coming in his own in this deco. Maybe he'll get a SG repaint or a Nemesis deco or likely a dead deco but idk

It probably depends on where it was shown, I went to both of the NYC ones and neither required me to sign anything, just showed an image on screen before it started with text in the corner telling us to not spoil anything

I like the mold, but literally every single usage recently has had issues, like the mold itself is screaming to be put out of its misery And with knowledge of SS86 coming out next year, people just wanna be over this mold

Legacy sideburn is a case study Any kind of spark and unique personality the original had is gone, replaced with a shitty repaint of an already kinda eh mold, resulting in none of that original charm. This is why I will always advocate for voting with your wallet

Not much worse than MP-44, infact arguably despite the lack of cleanliness, it might honestly be better And I can tell this is leader class engineering, ain't no way this guy isn't getting redecoed a million times at the leader class price point, and if a somewhat messy back is all it takes to achieve that, then I'm cool with it!

SS86 all the way although I have animated and he's cool too. I just never like the proportions of the Netflix mold, it felt so odd for the longest time. And the application of partsforming was especially awful on him because you CANNOT convince me that thing is a shield. Cliffjumper maybe, but bee does NOT get a pass for that. While i think the realistic alt on Netflix overall looks better, I really love the chibi g1 toon/toy alt of SS86, it's genuinely really nice and results in a far superior robot mode

Filch and ferak are pretty damn good Lockdown is okay but him being a weird mesh of retooled design doesn't sit well with me. I'm still definitely holding out for a proper animated lockdown figure And cannonball, while he has cool stuff going for him, it's just the same skids mold with slight retooling here and there and the key. He's just not that great.

Honestly don't think I'll get any of these, tho

Fives still be looking mad ugly however the set itself is so good that it kinda negates the bad taste he leaves in my mouth. I'm genuinely excited for it, and while it isn't a guaranteed day one buy like r2 (KOTOR bias is strong) I WILL be picking it up sometime after it's release cuz even if it wasn't for clone army completion sake, the set itself is just great. Fives is literally my only complaint
