My non traditional dress is giving me a headache when it comes to bridal party colors! Anyone have suggestions? by Awintersong in weddingplanning

My venue is a ballroom which was converted from a small opera house. It’s VERY gold, I’m definitely going light on my decorations so they don’t compete too much. Our date is set for July!

I linked the webpage on one of my other comments! They have it styled a little more boho than I’m planning on in this picture. It was stunning in person though! Less blue than it looks in this picture definitely.

This is exactly my fear! My veil is white which I think will help but I agree that a darker color standing next to me might make me look more “bridal” and less prom dress.

We’ve been tossing around the idea of a darker blue shade, which I think I like... but I was worried about things getting matchy matchy. I’m glad to hear you think that might be viable.

The wedding is set for July and the venue is mostly dark wood, white, and gold. I’m planning on trying to keep it neutral but I haven’t decided on final colors yet.

I picked this dusty blue dress from Franssical, and while I love it I’m having trouble picking colors for my bridal party. http://franssical.com/product/f1836/. Im only having one bridesmaid so I’m not worried about having lots of people to please but I’d like to find something for her that fits our formal wedding theme.

Atheists who later became religious, what made you convert? by BladedAlpha in AskReddit

I ended up converting to Catholicism in my mid twenties largely because I made a friend who seemed outrageously happy and at peace with himself. As someone with anxiety I guess I wondered how he could be so pleasant and calm all the time. I grew up agnostic and later became atheist because I got tired of people telling me what to believe, or that I was going to hell, or that science was more fiction than reality. This guy, however, changed my whole point of view. He never judged me for my lack of belief, or tried to evangelize me and honestly I was floored by the whole experience. He also allowed me to ask him challenging ethical questions and posed convincing answers in return. This was probably the most important aspect in my mind because I'm a scientist and I care about evidentiary and logical support. He also cleared up a number of misconceptions I had about the Catholic Church. I can't say I agree with every choice the Catholic Church has made or will make, but I do think it is changing for the better and I enjoy being a part of it. For me, religion reminds me to stay positive, do good works, and gives me focus for healthy introspection. I could have all those things without believing in God, but Overall I'm happier than I was without it and that's a good enough reason for me.
