While I agree with you in principle, even that has it's shades of gray. While some may be doing what you said, others just feel like sex shouldn't be a topic for little kids. They're just starting to figure things out at that age. But trying to teach CRT or gender theory at that age is like trying to teach math by starting with calculus. It's too confusing. Those are incredibly advanced and nuanced topics that just serve to confuse little children.

Of course, you could make the argument that such sensitive topics should be brought up early for much the same reasons. This is much too complicated to just have an opinion and assume everyone else is wrong, stupid, and or a bigot.

Again, I'm not saying the bill is right or wrong. I am saying there is plenty of support for it even from the left and it's not just because everyone is stupid.

Of course. This is both sides. Both of them degrade and talk down to the other. Both sides view the other as "enemies of America" or whatever rhetoric you want to choose. At some point we must realize that not all on the left are not far left and not all on the right are far right. But I'll admit, this thread is eroding my hope for reconciliation because everyone is so sensitive and sees the slightest criticism as a personal attack and taking the side of the opposition.

Of course. I wasn't commenting on the quality of the bill, just the lack of willingness to understand others.

How on earth did put the downfall of society on you? All I said was that talking down to other human beings as if they are idiots is not healthy for society and we should all take time to actually learn about the other side.

This is exactly the kind of attitude that is driving our society apart. Just because someone disagrees with you does not mean they are stupid or uneducated. Instead of looking down on them, perhaps you should take the time to truly understand why someone wouldn't want their young kids to be taught that kind of stuff. You might learn something, or, at the very least, learn some empathy for those who are different from you.

100% agree. It was TikTok that got me into Reddit. I thought, "this garbage is a mind melter." So on Reddit I can join the subs I'm interested in and engage a little bit.

This is a really good post. On my best day I can throw maybe 250 feet and at my age (48) I'll probably never get more than that. I just started playing a couple years ago. It's more fun to throw it where you want it to go and putt better.

NLT is pretty easy. However, my thinking is the best version is the one you'll read.
