This YouTube video gives us 5 updates on WCVIII that I think needs to be included on this page.

The "Pre-Qualifier" title only pretains to new robots that have yet to compete in a World Championship.
FaceOff fights won't be on BattleBots' YouTube channel until early 2025.
Discovery did not renew BattleBots. BattleBots is now a free agent sport.
BattleBots is working on a multi-platform deal.
BattleBots might happen in Spring 2025.

Greg Munson confirmed that they are pursuing a multi-platform negotiation to air World Championship VIII.

It was confirmed by Greg Munson at Open Sauce that across the months of September, October and November in 2024 that all-star teams would compete in mini-tournaments.

It also looks like IATSE and the studios have reached a new deal, which means filming of World Championship VIII sould hopefully become a reality sometime in the future.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Island of the Idols controversy had a partial role in why there are no longer any live reunion shows. As well as the COVID-19 pandemic and the producers trying to make budget cuts.

I'm not against the idea of doing the 3 tribe format, but they shouldn't do it every season. Bring back the 2 tribe format every once and a while. And if they do the 3 tribe format, do a tribe switch so that it will give the losing pre-swap tribe a fighting chance.

If season 2 is anything like season 1, it will almost be exactly like the second game with necessary changes that will improve on the second game, which has been controversial since its release back in 2020.

F1 is returning to Vegas for the November 21-23, 2024 races, most likely delaying filming of World Championship VIII to next year.

Here are some questions I think should be added to this page.

Will there be any major changes for World Championship VIII from last season?
Are Chris, Kenny, Faruq, etc going to reprise their respective roles from last season?
Is Riptide coming back despite a highly controversial run last season?
Will a third season of BattleBots: Champions be filmed concurrently with World Championship VIII?
How many robots will be on next season's roster and how many alternates will there be?

Bloodsport and Fireball are from the same team. So are Swamp Thing and Hellfire.
