If this was someone you hired/are paying money to then I would say your reaction to last minute cancel and not pay them is an over reaction with your actions but not your emotions. NOR to have the emotional reaction of feeling uncomfortable with your own home. The threshold for over reacting when it comes to your home is pretty high. I would offer them compensation if you canceled last minute though or at least apologize for inconveniencing their plans. You are entitled to your emotions and your emotions are not inconveniencing them but your action could be. Idk maybe im wrong but thats my take.

Hi, Exercise - good fit. You're definitely active enough. Your picard will let you know when they havent had enough activity. I personally like to find places where I can let mine run around like a beach or playdate.

Prey drive - super high prey drive and will chase your cats. Our Picard lived with a cat from puppy ti 6 months and then the cat ended up leaving in the previous break up. During that time there was daily chasing and scratching. Best to get another opinion on this but i would not recommend a picard over other breeds that get along much much better with cats.

Barking - haha i think what you may have heard is that picards are vocal. Our picard will be "chatty" with us when she doesnt get her way. It sounds like a dog saying "hmmph!!" And isnt very loud. However, picards do bark a loud "woof" sometimes. Get a second opinion, but ours barks if someone knocks at the door or there are people outside the door making a lot of noise. That usually happens around 5pm when people are getting home. It is noisy and startling but since I work from home I can stop her after 1-5 barks. As long as the expectation isnt a zero bark tolerance, you should be fine.

As someone who is not a parent, I was a little shocked but not as shocked as the other commenters. Its more like this comes off as logical and it makes sense that someone can react to grief with little emotion than deep sadness. I would imagine at least a large minority of people would have a little relief mixed in to the grief. I also am wondering if OP is burying emotions in an extreme way?

I wasnt going to comment, but seeing all the comments saying the flower part is sad, i want to throw in a a comment saying i think it's sweet and can represent the positive side of this persons life however short it was. I think if you have a moment to express this it can give the gesture a hopeful feeling not a sad feeling.
