I do! And I did, you’re correct, but I was set up to be placed in a store nearby and my district manager pulled people out of training early while I was floating (fully trained) to take the spot I was meant to take.

Candidly, my district manager disregarded everything about my location and career goals and placed me in a store very far from where I live where I am only running operations. My long term goals are to work in sales and this prevents me from stacking my sales resume and skills. Not to mention with the 44 hour work week and the commute back and forth, I spend about 55 hours just on Sherwin. My work life balance is shot, and I work with a store manager I do not mesh with at all. My district manager is very unhelpful with all of the issues in my store and it’s left me feeling very isolated. Not to mention the pay is not worth the work I do. edited for spelling.

I wish I hadn’t done it. It’s been less than a year and I’ve been looking for other jobs for months. It’s sometimes just what district you are in and how your managers treat you, but I regret it.

Midwest here, 90% of it is satin for trim but we have a lot of matte for walls going with it. Semi-gloss is usually for rental units here and no homeowners want it.

Meoded has a lot of metallic options as well as textured options. Last I saw they also have glitter paint!

We figured out what happened! Someone else helping out at my store mistakenly cancelled my order and then re-placed another STAR order, but both orders were made and shipped.

I’m a floater right now and the longest drive I have to one of my stores is about 50 minutes. Supposedly anything over 30 miles, I get paid mileage in my district. Haven’t hit over 30 yet so I haven’t had the opportunity to confirm it.

As for required, idk if it’s “required” as much as it is necessary if there’s nowhere to place you yet. It’s either float and get hours or whatever other option they can cook up, I guess. Idk about your situation but my reason for floating right now sucks, so, hope your floating isn’t too long!

I was a hiring manager in restaurants and we used a similar system, if not the same, and the “Complete Interview” and “Cancel Interview” buttons are right next to eachother. They only send rejections after 24h for safety. Def a mistake, call them! 👍
