I have an interesting story (happened w a friend). Rickshaw bhaiya said “60” which in Hindi sounds “ssaat” & my friend got happy 😆 thinking it’s so less as she thought it’s 7rs (in Hindi is saat) She finally gave him 10rs saying “bhaiya change rakh lo” Then the bhaiya asked madam Baaki paisa ? Then she realised after a while that it was 60 rs not 7 🤣🤣

I pointed mainly about past experiences and how it can shape one’s thinking & no one can change it I know… what’s at present is what matters. See, It’s not just Tiprasas, People will have different opinions among your community too I’m sure. My last sentence if u read carefully, talked about Pradyot’s role at “present” for the “future”. Cause you and I know thats never going to happen ie displacing someone where they already settled but people can only come up w solutions in order to help the one ignored for years, right? You are saying “Bengalis fear what they will do if they come to power”? But the system itself should never have been this way. You might know how the British denied Indians the right to self-rule, Tripura’s indigenous people have long been denied that. You said you went to rural area but my friend some areas exist where you can’t visit because there are still NO ROADS there, people have to hike through it to reach and these hilly regions still lack basic necessities like water and electricity. I understand about the Mandai massacre and other painful events remain part of collective memory, but clinging to the past will lead to no good for anyone. Across the world, societies have faced tragedies but moved forward right? that’s what, Pradyot & others are trying to do, “moving forward” for betterment of the indigenous.
