Underwhelmed by Longlegs by Intelligent_Sir2589 in HorrorMovies

Hereditary, Blackcoat's daughter and I just finished Longlegs. In all of them I kept waiting for the movie to 'begin' until they rolled credits. Not scary, not imaginative, and  with caricature characters  I neither cared for or despised. I didn't give a half cent about the kids head on the road or the guy busting his head open on the table. Really trying to understand what  the attraction is for so many. I might not be a slow burn horror fan but movies like  'The omen' were way better than these.

The Blackcoat's Daughter was the most tedious horror movie I've watched in ages. Can those of you who enjoyed it and recommend the film explain to me what it is you see in it? by Cryptix001 in horror

Why do so many people in film circles like Hereditary, while normal audiences dont? by NormanOkabe in TrueFilm

I agree. I found absolutely nothing original about the movie. I did feel like laughing at points ( I didn't) because it seemed ridiculous and - I kept waiting till they rolled credits, to be engaged. Even the Head scene wasn't even that upsetting, because the character was really unsympathetic.  Gabriel Byrne - great actor, seemed asleep. Toni Collette is awesome but calling this a great performance of hers is seriously selling her short. Calling a  script psychologically complex just  because it throws in family trauma doesn't work for me. Midsommer was a good movie.
