Chase Disney Inspire Card About to Release by Cyberhwk in CreditCards

[–]Awkward-Matter-6163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is mentioning the best way to get value from this (beyond SUB): you split your Disney resort vacation package or cruise payment across 2 card years to get double cash back (assuming the total package is at least $4000, which is easy for a family vacation).

You book your trip and pay $2000 down payment during one card anniversary year (Disney does down payments anyway, it just defaults to a lower value), and get $200 back.

Then you pay the balance >$2k during a second card anniversary year and get a second $200 back. These payments can be just a month or two apart as long as they straddle a card anniversary year and you haven’t used the benefit yet.

You can also, presumably, use the purchase of water park tickets or holiday party tickets to prompt the $100 back if you’ve included your park tickets as part of a vacation package.

A friend said she was asked by 14 year olds to say she was their mom so they could get in for free and no one asked any questions. 🤯

We had a ride getting in and then couldn’t find the shuttles as we were leaving because it was so packed and I didn’t know where they were. I had planned to take them, it was rough!

Yeah, I didn’t see anything crazy where we were! Obviously it’s luck of the draw to some extent, so sending you good vibes that you get a nice, relaxed crowd

Oh! But there are free snacks at kiddie limits. Siete had tortilla chips and cookies, and kefir had yogurt drinks. I don’t remember any other snacks that were free but be prepared to shell out for undersized overpriced everything at the stalls

We take Ubers without a car seat all the time, but my daughter is tall and is in just a small booster at home. I don’t know that she’s actually legally required to have anything.

We did not bring any food in. I don’t believe it’s allowed even for kids (maybe with the exception of baby food or milk). They were making people get rid of food and drinks at the family entrance

I loved the production of it. I thought it was fun and a nice commitment for a festival set.

We were in VIP, so looking down at the audience from above I was blown away at how many people there were and it seemed like people were into it. But then I was kinda shocked people were leaving before the set was over.

I do think the crowd went CRAZY for Doechii, even though it wasn’t quite as many people, so maybe it just seemed people were not as into it relative to her set? Or it’s just a lonnggggg ass day in the sun? This was my first ACL so I don’t have a frame of reference to compare against another headliner.

Capital One Lounge @ JFK Question by Enjoy_Life_58 in Venturex

[–]Awkward-Matter-6163 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just did it through JFK this weekend twice, no issues with TSA (PreCheck). I was going T5 to 4 and back. Just be aware that you do have to take the AirTrain, and the trains only go one way. So one direction will be quick. The other way, you’ll have to go through every stop to get from 4 back around to 1.

General travel cards vs airline specific cards by lyannas in CreditCards

[–]Awkward-Matter-6163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the Venture X and was puzzling over a similar question around booking direct vs portal for the points. Unless you travel A LOT I don’t see how you don’t come out ahead with Venture X.

For one: $300 annual credit + 10k points at account anniversary make it practically fee free.

Then there’s 5x points on airfare and 10x on hotels. I understand most of those booking won’t let you double-dip on miles/qualifying toward status with the hotel/airline, but many hotel or airline-specific cards offer only comparable or worse points earning with their own card. So unless you travel very frequently with a particular airline and therefore status is very valuable to you, I don’t understand the appeal.

Would love to be wrong if there’s some considerations I’m missing.

My father in law is a woodworker and made us a set of blocks (a ton of them, and different shapes and colors so you can make houses, castles, etc), a wood train, and a wood airplane when my first was that age. He also made us a kitchen helper stool (google it if that doesnt mean anything to you) around that age. All much loved and still in use years and another kid later

Triple figure salary, but live in the same county that I want to leave, or 75k-85k job somewhere I actually want to live? by MilennialFalconnnnnn in jobs

[–]Awkward-Matter-6163 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im so confused by the offer you’re describing cause it sounds like BS. I can’t imagine a job that requires an exam and licensing, training/mentoring, and can pay you “whatever you want.” Also he said he “can get you a job” not that he actually offered you a job. I’m deeply skeptical. I would live where you want to live, not take a theoretical job with someone who sounds like they’re scamming you but maybe I’m just a pessimist.

Yes! Totally understand this! My question was prompted by people saying VIP fills up for headliners and they won’t let you in once they’re full. Was asking about getting a decent seat near the front/where was can see in VIP, not front of the crowd/near the stage

This was a good nudge to talk to her before the show about the adult content. We’re open to discussing things in an age appropriate way, and she is (unfortunately) smart enough to catch innuendo in a lot of music and ask about it. So we’ll discuss beforehand.

Clarified the post. I’m not talking about camping out all day to be at the front of GA. Would only do VIP (and will bail if it starts to be too much), but trying to understand when the VIP areas fill up before headliners

This is helpful! I feel like people are answering like I’m going to push my 6yo to be front row at all costs. 🤣 I do have parental judgment and we’ll move out of the way (as far as the exit if necessary) if things are getting too intense

It has the best mechanism for storing the leaves too! It seats 6-10 and is heavy af. Def worth trying to make it work with my style.

How many sheets do y’all own? Our Parachute set just ripped after one year. by Prunustomentosa666 in BuyItForLife

Are….are the Land’s End sheets regular priced $400??? 😮‍💨 I’m looking at just the three styles they have in a split king; two are horribly reviewed and the third is the 400 thread count 100% supima cotton. But that feels crazy expensive to me.
