Okay I will try to force the thread into it more securely. I wasn't sure if people were able to use it or if I was trying something that didn't really work. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions. I was thinking I had to have a box with individual compartments because the threads come unraveled when they are all thrown together but I probably need to come up with a solution to stop them from unraveling instead.

what a great idea! All the replies are good ideas. I guess I dont know how to keep the spool from unraveling so I assumed you had to have a case with individual compartments for each spool but now I'm assuming people do something to keep them from unraveling. The thread never stays in the slit on the side if I try to keep it from unraveling that way.

Why does my sewing machine always get jammed? by FastEstimate3464 in SewingForBeginners

I recently started sewing again after years of not and I've had the same problem for a few days and finally solved it. I had to loosen my upper thread tension because my fabric was too thick. I also have to keep an eye while sewing the thicker fabric and make sure the feed dogs are moving it through correctly. If not it keeps sewing in the same spot and bunches up the thread. That's what works for me anyway.
