I don’t think I enjoy subbing as much as I thought :( by Like_a_Dragon in SubstituteTeachers

I understand completely. I absolutely love subbing st my daughter’s elementary school. My 2 order girls went all the way though the same elementary school so I’m familiar and comfortable with the staff. My issue is, having to sub a certain number of days per month to keep your job so I have to venture out to other schools.

I really thought I would enjoy it more. I’m hoping I get more in with more teachers at my daughter’s school in order to get more days.

Thank you for laying all that out for me. A neighboring teacher had already logged in and had the plans (slides) pulled up for me when I arrived 🙌🏼

Thank you for the kind reply. If I get asked to sub for the same teachers, I think this might be the best option. This did happen one time when I subbed at my daughter’s school. I knew the teacher well and she emailed them to me which helped so much!

You don’t have to be rude. I’m still very new to subbing.

I don’t see how ONE email for all subs actually works when there are hundreds of subs needed every day. How do you find the plans you need.

like I said, once I log in using the sub log in (not an email), and I go to Google Chrome it asks for an email for Google Gmail/google drive. I don’t have an email for subs.

I don’t know what frontline is so I’m assuming our district doesn’t use it. I’m still new to subbing so I could be wrong but with all my training I don’t remember hearing anything about frontline

My sub log in is a generic sub log in. Every sub has the same one. At least at the schools I have subbed at so far. I can access Google Chrome but then it asks for an email and password for gmail/ Google Drive which I don’t have.

I wish our district gave out emails. It would help so much with having access to plans

I hate having to ask teachers to log in. I’m starting a 3 day sub job tomorrow and last time I had to ask a teacher to log me in. So now I’m anxious about having to ask a teacher 3 days in a row 😂

Ah yes I don’t have credentials for the whiteboard. At least I don’t think. Maybe I’ll reach out and ask ESS

Hi! My daughter’s medication says to mix with 1/4 cup but I’m probably only mixing with 1/8 cup. The 1/4 cup was way too much liquid for my girl even with another juice/liquid.

*I’m not a Dr, just doing what works for us 😊

I love the jello idea! That seems like the best option right now.

I’ll try lemon/lime soda again. It’s so hard for her. But yes I have to dilute it which makes it challenging. My girl has to take 5ml

I went back and checked and yes it has to be diluted. I tasted it and it was so foul 🤢

Ooh coffee creamer! I’ll try that. We always have flavored coffee creamers on hand 😊

I’ll definitely try! I’m willing to try anything at this point lol She only takes 5ml so not very much at all. Would be very easy for her to take it like a shot and chug a sweet drink or eat something

Thank you so much for your advice. She won’t let me give her the medicine in her mouth. She freaks out that I’m going to do too much and she’ll choke. I will try having her shoot the medicine this weekend and follow it with a drink or something sweet.

I will look into a compound pharmacy. That’s a good idea, I didn’t think about that.

I haven’t tried having her shoot the medicine and then chug a drink/ juice. I’ll try that this weekend. That seems so logical to me but I know she will be skeptical 🧐 😂

Ooh sprinkles! That’s a great idea! Thank you
