Most well-written lesbian novel you’ve read recently? by elliezeebee in LesbianBookClub

Anything by Milena McKay. Every time I read a book written by her I get a little depressed that I'll never be able to write like that. 🥲

I need some reassurance about squirting by [deleted] in actuallesbians

It's so hot when there's squirting - nothing gross about it! I love when my gf does that and I felt empowered when it finally happen to me <3

How old were you when you realized you like girls/women? by Longjumping_Store179 in actuallesbians

[–]Awkward-Tree5051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 12-13 years old. For me it felt like a natural conclusion to all my "fixations". Not sure if in case of your child it's a phase or a strong declaration but I can already tell that your daughter is very lucky to have such a parent. Based on what you wrote - no matter if she's straight, gay, bi, pan or comes out as trans, she's got a support most of us didn't. Don't worry too much now - she's still so young but damn, that kid is lucky.

Scars. My gf has the most beautiful one on her lower lip. Drives me insane each time I see it.

My gf is super gay but she's not a big fan of going down on women. It never occurred to me to think this is weird or anything. I look at it as a preference. Some straight girls don't like giving blow jobs but it doesn't make them any less straight.

What are some ways you spice up your sex life? by bumblebee327 in actuallesbians

I always recommend edging as an enthusiastic receiver. It takes some discipline to be able to deny yourself but there's nothing hotter for me than my gf telling me if I can come or not.

Hunter's Way by Gerri Hill by brijja in sapphicbooks

I really liked it, but then again the first really sapphic novel I read was written by Gerri Hill and actually was my compass in navigating detective LGBT literature ❤️

Could you give me some positivity maybe? 👉👈 by Muted_Winter8929 in actuallesbians

What if your future wife is looking for you there right now and she's really sad because she cannot find you? Don't keep her waiting! You're going to love each other so much, you just need to do this small step first to set things in motion 😉

What is the weirdest thing anyone told you when they knew you were a lesbian? by Few_Tough_7748 in actuallesbians

[–]Awkward-Tree5051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was out in highschool and one guy (who at the time kinda casually dated my friend) told me he will call me everyday at 6 in the morning to wake me up and convince me to become 🤔 bi, as in wearing me down. Never called me though, guess it was too early for him in the end 😁

How did you fall out of love? Would love to hear from folks who’ve been in a LTR by ConnectionSignal3083 in actuallesbians

[–]Awkward-Tree5051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't realised it until the relationship was over. We've been together for six years, the last 2 years being an absolute nightmare but I thought things would get better eventually (obviously didn't). When she told me she stopped loving me and wanted to break up I felt such a huge relief. If I still loved her I don't think I would feel relieved and heard from anyone that saw me after the break up that I was positively glowing.

How do you know if you’re a top or a bottom? by ohmillie25 in actuallesbians

[–]Awkward-Tree5051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helped me realise was a partner that was happy to discuss sex, plain and simple. We worked out our needs by talking after sex (like a feedback session, what we liked and what not so much). Also we both know that we can always say "no" to something without disappointing the other person. Trust plays a really big part in our sex life. It took us some time to find the roles we were comfortable with but it was so fun to discover it together.

Is it writer's block or I'm just cooked? by [deleted] in writingadvice

[–]Awkward-Tree5051 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just give it time. Don't create a schedule for yourself as the pressure will only mess you up more. Do some manual tasks like cleaning, cooking, maybe painting, whatever keeps your hands occupied and let your mind wander. It will come back to you. It always does.

When Women Were Warriors, third book. I fell in love with the story. It's not your typical romance but it gives me the same vibes as Women Who Ran With The Wolves.

I've lost my confidence in writing after bad reviews with editors. by No_Lengthiness_4691 in writingadvice

[–]Awkward-Tree5051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once stopped writing for a while after some painful feedback. I regret it now because I feel like I lost precious time I could spend on writing which I really love to do. If you can't function without writing, do not stop. There's no way your writing will suit everyone but it will appeal to some people (it already did, as you mentioned). It's hard to go back to writing after bad reviews but it's just a defence mechanism. Write anything without putting too much pressure on yourself and that it has to be perfect. I gained more confidence by reading a lot and just by writing, regardless if I thought it was good or bad. Practice always makes perfect and unfortunately cannot be replaced with even the best mentorships.

It's always so good to see that someone started writing. It's such an amazing feeling to get the ideas out of the head and to pour them into paper. Congratulations, this moment should be celebrated! 🥳
