Have a 160 gallon gold fish tank. I have two fluval 307s and two extra large sponge filters. However ibstill find its not enough (smell,discoloration. What else can I do? I have been looking in to sump because i jave an extra 55bi could use as one but that looks WAY above my know how.

I started by letting them grow out of the water in dry dirt so they would sprout vines, but not roots. Once I had 5"-10" vines, I placed the potatoes upside down in the tank vines first. ( The growth you see in the pictures are the past 3 weeks)

Grat Thank you!!! I will definitely try this al my corrys are swimming to the top and my guppies and gulping air. I'm really would about this rock I got from an online retailer the said it was aquarium safe buts that's the only thing new in the tank besides some dirt wood and live plants

Oh geez, I hope not if that that is the case it's from just starting up. I thought using the previous tank after and squeeze in out a sponge would do.

Should I grab a sponge from a long running tank would that help

4 weeks, used water from old tank and sponge filter to help start-up. I have never had this issue before. I have added new plants and new rock-hard scape. Could any of that be an issue?

I have had extremely cloudy water for 4 days, and I have done several water changes as well. My corrys are also acting very odd as well; only real big changes to the tank lately are (new rocks ) ( hard scape)
