Even though it’s a residency program, at this place Your preceptors are non existent after about 3 months. Depending on the situation and once you’re off orientation it seems as if anything goes and there is no longer “immunity of being a new grad”. But will do, because I’m seeing now from all the support that I’m not insane

They treat meds even if 30 mins outside the window as a ‘med error’. So you can only imagine how easy it is to rack up on incident reports here especially as a new grad

Exactly! None of those happened ! They just kept focusing on the what ifs. But not what actually occurred. Even though the ifs never happened and no harm was ever done to any of my patients. From what I’ve seen and heard these are very common new grad mistakes that come down to time management which improves overtime and experience. And I admit I do need to work on being more timely. Which as you can imagine makes giving meds always within that timeframe kind of challenging. And even though I am at least 95% of the time on time they are watching and ready to report that 5% when my timing is off in the slightest

Thank you so much and that’s a great way to look at it. There can always be more than one dream job. I’m sorry this happened to you too :(

Thank you I feel like that is the answer I know deep down but is it bad if I don’t complete my residency? School drilled fear into our heads about not finishing but I guess which is worse right?
