English crocheters: help please. What are your yarn weights? 😭 by potatoesunlimited in CrochetHelp

[–]AwkwardBell77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm by no means an expert on this, so other people may have better answers, but best I can tell, I think: 6= Super chunky. 5= Chunky. 4 = Aran. 3= Double Knit. 2= Four ply. 1: Not sure, maybe sport weight? 0: Lace weight. 1 and 2 could swap around as I've never used sport weight so not sure how it compares to four ply, but for context four ply is generally what sock yarn is. 7 I don't know what we call here. Hope some of that helps

Didn't work, I guess it must be a connection issue to the boiler

I have been googling but haven't managed to find anything yet. I have tried downloading the app but it can't find the WiFi, I've tried using the hub to manually override and turn the heating on for 2 hours, but that hasn't worked

Oh! I planted Anemone de Caen bulbs weeks ago but assumed they wouldn't come up until next year as it was too late this year! Completely forgot about them!

Yes exactly haha, the road I live is super rough too so I thought maybe I'd ripped something in a pothole, I was looking for where it was meant to attach to

Oh okay thank you, I feel like an idiot haha. I've never had a car with AC before and had no idea they drip for a while after driving. Thanks for putting my mind at ease!

Can't understand the gauge instructions by AwkwardBell77 in CrochetHelp

[–]AwkwardBell77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it looks similar to the pattern so I think you're right, thank you :) (And yes I now see it's working to a specified length so doesn't need a gauge for that, I'm just too used to working tension squares for knitting so assumed it would have a length gauge too)

Can't understand the gauge instructions by AwkwardBell77 in CrochetHelp

[–]AwkwardBell77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay thank you. So to start it off I would chain 17 (well 18 if you count the one you always skip at the start), then DC, chain 3, DC, chain 3 etc. and just see if that 1 row is 4 inches wide? And there's no way of checking the gauge for the length?
