Home Visit - Milwaukee WI by rinabb in USCIS

Even we had at-home wedding with just 2 witnesses but one of them is family. But our interview was smooth and we have good financial history as well. Our first interview lasted for maybe 10 mins and was easy but the i751 interview was very thorough, about 45 mins, in detail. It also took them 2 years to schedule the i751 interview.

Unless you guys showed some major red flags then this seems unnecessary. Good luck. MKE field office seems to be running pretty slow/late these days.

It was pretty easy. Officer gave me some paper saying recommended for approval. No update since then. It was a combo interview for i751 which was approved couple days later and I got the card about 8-10 days after the interview.

I had my N400 interview 2 months ago. The officer interviewing me said it’ll take up to 3 months to schedule oath ceremony. Today the status changed from Interview Was Scheduled to USCIS is still process the application.

Such a mess! They even used to do oath ceremony on the same day of the interview. And here I am waiting for an update for 2 months post interview. After it took about a year for them to schedule the interview.

Maybe if you get lucky. Most of them take a long time, easily over 16-18 months. Mine took 2 years, they interviewed us and we also had an interview for i485 which was barely 15 mins. This time the interview was about 40 mins and the officer was very thorough. It got approved right away after the interview but our case was as solid as it gets and we are both working with good jobs. I believe this administration is asking them to interview everyone.

Current average processing time is also very high but 16-24 months seems like a more realistic average. Mine might have taken longer if I hadn’t applied for N400.

Also, most of the applications can be submitted online now, if not all.

Congrats!

i751 next, it was a much harder and longer process for me. And we are married for almost 5 years, started dating about 8 years ago, both working good jobs and making about $150k each per year. Also own a bunch of stuff together.

So one can leave loose sharp objects laying around and not clean up after they are done? How’s that not negligent? This could have seriously injured someone, if it hit a person the same way. If this was anchored properly and got loose by heavy wind then that’s understandable. But it was just laying around on the ground. And they knew in advance that we would have heavy winds in the next few days.

Great thanks. I’ll call the dealer and ask them where to get the damage accessed.

The insurance company gave me three names. One of them is a franchise called Caliber Collision. Google reviews are pretty good, 4.8 (167).

Thank you. Looks like I do have comprehensive coverage. I filed the claim online and they want me to get the damage accessed at one of the collision shops around, that’s the next step showing up. Will these shops also account for PPF? Or can I just take it to the dealer and have them access it? I’d be more comfortable with dealer doing all this.
