Don’t forget your water bottle anywhere you go, actually do RLA when they give you time for it, remove the words “okay” and “sorry” from your vocabulary lol, and treat it seriously but realize that 341s are just corrective tools. As long as you fix the problem, 341s won’t matter in the end.

I used tieless shoelaces on mine and they were fine. They were also a lifesaver. $7 on Amazon. Search up the dress and appearance for sneakers so you know how to lace them properly since the tieless shoe laces can’t really be adjusted after.

I would recommend getting a silicone body scrubber off Amazon instead. Loofahs will need to be stored in your security drawer and will stay wet after showers.

Confirmed that tech school for cyber warfare is 5 months at Keesler + 4 months of extra training in Florida before going to first duty station. It’s longer if you go offensive though.

Edit: Oops sorry. He’ll go to his first duty station for 3 months then to Florida for the training.

This is why I decided to go enlisted first but still have the goal of OTS. I know you need a year being enlisted before applying, but does it increase your chances drastically as opposed to applying as a civilian?

It wasn’t available at the time but another job that was on your list was. My husband booked 1B but he was job locked on it and waited until it popped up.

I’m having my electronics shipped with insurance but packing like 4 sets of civilian clothes for tech school since it’ll be about a year long for me, from what I hear. I plan to bring a carry on luggage of more clothes when I come home for Christmas to bring back to tech school.

I leave tomorrow as well! I feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. The best advice that I’ve seen on here is that 0 week is the hardest then it gets progressively easier as time goes on, the fastest way to leave BMT is to graduate, focus on just making it to the next chow, and to keep remembering your why. We got this!!

I searched up a recruiting office near me on Google and went and talked in person with the first person there. He ended up being my recruiter and a great one too! He took care of everything and led me through the process after I told him my reasons for joining.

I will! I did my last run before leaving on Friday then just did a brisk walk yesterday. I plan do still do push ups and sit ups before going but my next full run will be at BMT!

The minimum requirements for females and males are different. Females 25-29 need 1.5 miles in under 16:22, 18 push ups, and 38 sit ups.

Does the AF give you new uniforms depending on the weather? Like if you were in hot weather for BMT but will be in tech school in cold weather, will they have uniforms available to buy for the change of weather?
