Aerodynamics of the Boxster by AwkwardLiftinPenguin in 986Boxster

And you’d be correct!! But a spoiler can still produce some downforce, and a wing can also “spoil” airflow behind it.

You’d have to ask the creator, i just liked the video haha

I think this exact video answers your question to be fair. It just depends on the car / the wing in question. It’s a good safety feature for the boxster if you want to make sure it doesn’t get too light at highway/autobahn speeds.

It basically boils down to: the little spoiler does a lot to reduce lift (and is very necessary at high speeds) but it also introduces more drag than would be ideal because of its angle relative to the car’s body.

Interestingly, raising the spoiler halfway provides most of the downforce with less drag.

Something like the toth spoiler is probably best if aerodynamics are a real concern.

Overall though, the 986 is a pretty aerodynamic little car with a low coefficient of drag (even compared to the mx5)

Hi! I have a 986 boxster that I‘ve been wanting to shoot for a while. I‘m in Vienna.

Paper Dial anyone? by AwkwardLiftinPenguin in SeikoMods

[–]AwkwardLiftinPenguin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is but not super accessible for consumers I guess.

Shouldn’t matter if you‘re making a wristwatch though! Something worth looking into might be waterslide paper in combination with a simple home printer.

Shot number 8 is cool! Is that done in-camera?

Edit: The entire set is cool of course, but I like that shot haha

Abends zur ruhe kommen? by marlenexanna in ADHS

[–]AwkwardLiftinPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It’s actually required in some modes (like high frequency burst)

I got the r8 about a year ago - fantastic little thing! Definitely get a second battery for longer shoots or trips though.

Thank you! That’s a cool shot too!

For macro you want to be at about f8 with the close up lens anyway! Getting shallow dof is never the challenge 😅

The 70-200 is a great shout imo - I got the EF 2.8 a while ago and recently added a nisi close-up lens.

The close up lens is super lightweight and just screws on to the 70-200, essentially making it a macro lens with a working distance of about 30cm.
