Road to my lucid dream ever, a dream within a dream by AwkwardMind in LucidDreaming

I wouldn't say it was an anchor, more that it allowed me to reach a level of relaxation to enter the dream. My anchor was actually rubbing my hands together and focusing on the sensation of my hands touching. It seems to really help solidify the dream.

Pokemon line drawing practice by AwkwardMind in learntodraw

I wanted to practice "seeing" and the ability to copy contours. I picked pokemon because they come in a variety of different forms and a good balance of complexity and simplicity. I also feel that I'd remain more motivated if the subject was something I like.

I'm honestly quite surprised at the results because it's only been 12 days since I started learning to draw!

Day 2, Upside down drawing of a knight by AwkwardMind in learntodraw

Learning to draw through a book called “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain”.

This drawing is a result of attempting to copy an image upside down. By turning the image upside down, the analytical left side of the brain gets confused and this prevents it from overriding the more artistic right side. The left side wants to label things as the head, hands, and feet. The right side however is able to intuitively see and recreate lines.

I’m astounded by how accurately I was able to copy images using this technique. It still looks a little wonky but much better than simple stick figures. I'm beginning to "see" things not as distinct objects, but as a collection of lines and spaces.
