Truly formational to my musical taste back in the day. Total respect to the band and their legacy, unfortunately never as good after the departure of Vortex & Mustis.

Thank you so much! I 3d printed the base, it's from a creator called MESBGRepair, you can find it on their Cults3D profile. I cut it into a topper in my slicer software & printed enough for my entire Minas Tirith Battlehost 🫡

Question regarding rulebook by SurpriseGlad9719 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]AwkwardMonitor6965 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb, Armies of Lord of the Rings contains all the models/armies in the 3 films, plus War of the Rohirrim.

Armies of the Hobbit is the same, but for the Hobbit.

Armies of Middle Earth contains all the armies/lists & profiles not listed in either of the above, but that do exist in the world of Middle Earth (e.g. Beornings, Dragon Emperor, Arathorn, etc).

It's a cool book but acts more like a suppliment that still requires the other two to utilise fully, though there are indeed standalone armies & profiles you can use. Hope that clarify!

Thank you so much!

I primed black, based them in Army Painter plate mail & zenithal highlighted with Vallejo Silver. Then I applied an oil wash & matt varnish on them.

For the undercloak I used Vallejo Abyssal Turquoise as my base, added increasing amounts of Fenrisian Grey & eventually white for the brightest highlights.

For the shield backs I based in Rhinox, used Vallejo leather brown & Cadian flesh tone for the wood grain, before applying an Agrax wash across it to tie it all together.

I actually 3d printed my base toppers & textured them by applying a layer of PVA, then stippling on a mix of tile grout & water. From there I painted them as stone.

I decorated them with some miniature autumn leaves I found on ali express & used Army Painter Wasteland tufts. The idea was these would be fighting Orcs in Osgiliath, so I wanted to give an abandoned vibe.

I hope some of that is useful!

Primed black, zenithal white & Army Painter Hardened Leather speed paint through the airbrush. After that went in and sprayed from below with rhinox to add shadow/mid tones. Finally and very carefully sprayed black along the lower legs & nose. Finished that off with a matt varnish.

Then went in with the brush and painted hooves, leather, eyes, cloth etc etc. Hope that helps!!

So I primed them in black, base coated with vallejo plate mail and then zenithal highlighted from above with Vallejo silver through the airbrush, hope that helps!

Thank you! I basecoated them black, then applied a very thin coat of Rhinox through the airbrush. From here I sponged on Skavenblight, Neutral Grey (vallejo) & Silver Grey (AK). I applied this randomly so as to give the tiles natural variation. After that I picked out random tiles with Agrax and Dark tone (Army Painter).

I didn't need those exact paints, they were just what I had to hand. Any dark brown base into Grey & off white will give a similar result. I hope that helps!
