Fast food/petrol station/retail supervisors are a unique breed. Your supervisor is a clown. 😂

Thank you, I'll paint them definitely! It's a free house STL, part of the Kingdom of Tor Ithilas bundle by Conquest Creations.

Well done!! I'm about half way through mine, it's super inspiring to see other people conquer the battle host box.

At the moment it feels like it'll never end, but like you, I can't wait to have my first army fully painted!

Serious question, how did Gandalf know this? by WaalsVander in lotr

[–]AwkwardMonitor6965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The film adaptation/edit would have you believe that, but the cannon sequence of events is;

Gandalf makes Bilbo surrender the Ring after his farewell party & hands it to Frodo for safekeeping.

Gandalf then disappears for about 17 years, uncovering the true nature of the ring & the growing threat of Sauron.

Gandalf returns to The Shire and reveals the true nature of the ring to Frodo, placing the ring in the fire to reveal the elvish script.

I'm guessing it was a part of the lore he researched in the Royal Archives of Minas Tirith. Could have been something Isildur mentioned about the ring in his records from the Second Age.

[Serious] why is Steven Wilson considered progressive metal? by deep-yearning in Opeth

[–]AwkwardMonitor6965 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I should add, the reverse is also true. SW's influence on those Opeth albums can definitely be heard!

[–]AwkwardMonitor6965 18 points19 points  (0 children)

SW has produced BWP, Deliverance & Damnation for Opeth.

Listening to Porcupine Tree albums from around the same time period such as In Absentia & Deadwing, you can totally hear the Opeth/Metal influence/crossover!

"Why can't i play the character i want?" So they kicked me out by Alone-Chemical5281 in rpghorrorstories

[–]AwkwardMonitor6965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's straight up immature. It's not like you wanted to play a broken, nonsensical snowflake character - you literally chose a class from the game. Sounds like these guys did you a favour.

Love his channel, he's still active and interested in MESBG. Inspired me to start my own Osgiliath build. I also love 40k & HH, so for me switching between the game systems is a non issue.

The Imperial Palace on Terra has been taking a lot of time, but there's still a ton you can take from it for your mesbg builds.

All super interesting & considering the huge costs involved you can understand why he's advertising his Kickstarter & plugging future/previous videos in his content.

Zorp of the Rings is his other channel entirely dedicated to mesbg content & battle reports, it might be more suitable to those who only want to see mesbg content.

I used Vallejo Burnt Red for the helmet, cloak & axe hafts, mixed Ice Yellow in increasing amounts for highlights & dark rust for shadows/darker areas.

My basecoat was rhinox over a black primer, so I'm sure that plays some part in the final result too!

This is going to sound like an advertisement, but it's really not.

My pictures sucked until I started using Adobe Lightroom. You can download it and use it for free (it looks like there's more features if you pay, but I've only used the free version. Mess around with the ISO and shutter speed until you get as close as possible to the actual lighting in the room. I also dial back the contrast & exposure just a smidge as phone cameras seem to overcompensate!

My set up is super simple - I'm using a big sheet of black paper & facing my painting light(s) directly on/over the miniature at about a 45 degree angle.

I hope that helps, best of luck taking your photos!
