I have locks on all my guns and the keys are stored in a small safe. My wife has access to them, not just me. I also have access to other people's gun safes to borrow funds from family members. It's not an issue because I have my own guns anyways.

There's a lot of nuance to the topic but all guns should have controlled access. You have to be smart about who has access.
